Radheswari Mahila Mandali of Sano Puttar village is one of the active mahila mandals getting the support from UNDP. Recently, the members of mahila mandal are coming forward for the proposition of the local haat which was objected by the male dominant society for not interfering in the bid but the members with collective efforts were condemned the objection of the males and outbid and occupied the haat. Apart from this, Jagruti and Palli Vikas another 2 SHGs are also very keen in promoting the floriculture which is the up- to- date demand in the market with lucrative profit.
Apart from this, the mahila mandals have the great contribution in excavating a new water tank in their village to mitigate the water problem involving with community participation mainly by the SHG members. The works of the mahila mandals in the area are very praiseworthy and appreciable by the locality, which elevates the encouragements to the women community, involving so, in the welfare activities, in sake of public interest and betterment. The collective efforts and endeavors of the Mahila mandals in the area are ever been remembering.
Case Study - 3
30 members of three UNDP supported Mahila Mandals of Pottar Grampanchyet could get the training from OUAT, Bhubaneswar, being imparted by the Resource persons mainly on the preparation of the pine apple squash- which is alarming demand in the market and the raw material of pine apple is also available in plenty in the area. The women members after getting the training were familiar well in preparation of the pine apple squash. Apart from this, they are also well in advance in preparation of the guava and lemon squash and pineapple jam, collecting raw materials from the area to get more and more profit with innovative ideology. The efforts of the groups in value addition of the horticulture products is being recognized by the outside market units, which would probably be open the vistas for the profitable earning to sustain the livelihood.
