Achievements of the Year :

* Attempts were taken to educate 999 dropout and non-schooling children within age group of 6 - 14 years in 28 EGS centres in Rayagada and Nuagada block of Gajapati.

* Interventions were made to strengthen the community participation in the educational process to make the school functional in Tarangada and Partada GP. CCD also actively participated in the Orissa Sikhya Abhijan to highlight the issues of education at state level.

* INHP-II interventions were launched in 351 Anganwadi Centres in 20 sectors of Rayagada, Gumma, Kasinagar and Paralakhemundi Blocks as demonstration & model centres for the effective implementation of the Integrated Health and Nutrition program, creating massive public awareness under the aegis of CARE- ORISSA and attempts were also being taken to create public awareness conducting cultural shows in 39 targeted villages on the prevention and control of Malaria and Drug Prohibition.

* Safe drinking water was ensured in Barba and Tohojung village through gravitational flow and Irrigation canal was constructed in Kumbrising village irrigating …..acres.of land.

* 9 Community Halls and 1 Safe drinking water provisions was constructed under the Entry Point Activity with the support of Rs.50,000/- each and with the community contribution

* Capacity Building trainings were organized on NRM, SHG, PRI, HEALTH, AGRICULTURE and plantation, to the VDC, SHG members, PRI members, Anganawadi, Village Volunteers, User groups and to the village sub Committees and PWDs. CCD has also organized 10 Animal Health Camps for vaccination and treatment.

* Watershed Committees has taken up directly 10 Check Dams,4 farm ponds,3 irrigation and fishery tanks,10 gravity flow water supplys,10 NTFP godown, and 10 nurseries.

* 10000 numbers of sapplings procured from Horticulture and forest departments for 10 nurseries raised at 10 watersheds.

* Micro planning exercise was conducted in 10 watersheds.

* 5 animal Health camps organized

* Vegetable cultivation in 15 hectares on community land.

* 102 SHGs were Promoted during the year in its operational areas and providing socio-economic support encouraging their participation in every developmental sector. In this regard, CCD was awarded with Best SHPI by department of Women and Child development, Orissa.

* A financial support of Rs. 34,52,000/- was provided to 84 women SHGs of Gosani, Kasinagar, Gumma, Rayagada Block and in Paralakhemundi municipality from RGB and SBI, Paralakhemundi to enhance the economic potential of women members.

* Active participation of women in Gram Sabha and Palli Sabha involving in decision making process has increased and ensuring equal wages.

* The process of Gender Analysis was initiated in 15 villages to sensitize the community on Gender issues involving adult male, adult females, girls, boys, old men and women.

* Linking the partner community at the state and national level struggles for pressurizing the Govt. for favourable policys like Right to Dignity., Right to information, Forest Rights and other campaigns.

* 72 Disabled Children of different communities were enrolled in to the regular school.61 PWDs groups (Person's with Disability) confederating it into a District level Network as a pressure group to work for the sustainable community based rehabilitation, mobilizing the resources from social development sector.

* An amount of Rs. 2,63,000/- provided to 49 PWDs from respected SHGs under REHASWISS project and from the Cooperative (an amount of Rs.5,000/- and Rs. 10,000/- to each member) to invest in different trades according to the feasibility for their socio-economic rehabilitation.

* The network of the tribes under the name of Gajapati Maha Sangh Network was promoted for the settlement of the land and forest cases.

* Celebration of International Disable Day involving 354 members marched in Paralakhemundi Town with banners and leaflets demanding for equal opportunities and Rights.

* Orientation to women PRI members was conducted on the eve of International Women's Day involving SHG members, PRI members, ICDS personnel to sensitize the role of women in Panchayat Raj.

* A workshop Partner's meet was organized by CCD involving the network memebrs of White Ribbon Alliance Orissa, District Chapter - Gajapati, to create mass awareness campaign on best health practices ensuring Safe Motherhood in Gajapati.

* Inaguration of Food Processing Unit at Mandalasahi of Rayagada Block by District Collector to encourage the value addition trials taken by women SHG members to generate employment opportunity as well as income generation activities creating better market linkages.

A workshop on Right to Information was organized involving 104 members from SHGs, PRI members, NGO personnel and lawers with a veiw to sensitize the general public on the new Act.

A workshop on Investment Education was organized to create a common platform to invest the money in a justifiable manner to get better output with credibility
