About Us

Center for Community Development (CCD) - a Civil Society Organisation of Paralakhemundi, GajapatiDistrict, Orissa was formed in the year 1991-92 to work for the betterment of the tribals and other poor communities of the then Ganjam district. It was registered under the SR Act 1860, bearing Regd. No. GJM 1728-274/1991-92, and residtered under 12 A & 80 G of the IT Act, bearing No. Jufl/32/12S/1993-94/22505. Mr. A.Jagannadha Raju, presently the Secretary cum Director took lead role in forming the organization along with other like minded persons putting in his last 17s years of experience in development sector.

Vision of CCD

CCD envisages an empowered “marginalized communities” -“the tribals”, the dalits and the poor, in Gajapati region, with secured livelihood and food security, enjoying human dignity, establishing inclusiveness of the disabled, the women, the children, with good governance, having access and control over resources, sound health and education and compatibility with nature.

Mission of CCD

CCD's mission is to empower the target community through promoting strong community based organizations, developing sustainable livelihood resources and skills, restoring the natural resources, ensuring the rights of the child, the disabled, and the women, caring for better health, education and good governance

Objectives of CCD

1.  To develop the socio-economic status of the tribals and other marginalized creating sustainable livelihood, sound health and children education.

2.  To promote the natural resource management restoring forest, land quality and water ensuring sustainable livelihood.

3. To enhance the position of the women, the children and the disabled .

4. To raise the people's capacity for active participation in PRI and accessing govt. resources and schemes, reducing exploitation..

5. To empower the marginal Community promoting strong CBOs, federations, and co-operatives.

6. To promote micro enterprise, MFIs and market linkages ensuring higher returns to the marginalized producers. .
